Hello and welcome to my blog,
I've started a new workshop called "Opinion Writing". As expected, it's a good one. I'm glad I chose it. Aside from doing extensive research on opinion writing and getting it all started that way, I've been working like a dog at the pizza place. Luckily, researching isn't too bad of a thing to do after a long day of work. I can do it for about half an hour until I get tired. But there is so much to find within half an hour. So I don't feel a bit bad about shutting down my computer after a rather short research session. I've gathered multiple articles on a subject that I wanted to use for the opinion writing workshop. The topic lies within the political area. Can you guess? No, it's not about any presidents. It's about democracy and other political systems. I just think that people have so many opinions about political systems that I thought I will go towards this direction. Let's see where it will lead me to. It's fun for sure! I love those workshops! So for more, come back next week. I will give you some insights into this workshop project. Jason

Preventive Journalism successfully passed! It took me longer than expected. But the exam went well and now I'm just taking it easy for the weekend. I am planning to do a workshop next. Maybe opinion writing workshop? That sounds interesting. How doesn't have an opinion these days? Especially in our age of social media this seems quite obvious. The fact that you can stay anonymous makes it even easier for people to share their opinion. And if they're not anonymous - well then it is still easier to have an opinion. The virtual world has different things to offer. Also for journalists: I think, this workshop will do me good. Also, it's nice to take a break for pure study books.
Well, this isn't my longest entry. But I have so much to do today. And there just isn't any more to tell. I hope you'll stay tuned for next week's entry on opinion writing! Jason . Thank you for coming back! I've taken a long break from studying because I felt like I really needed it. Plus, I had to work a lot. So here I'm back now and I've started a new module recently. It is called "Comics Journalism"!
Yes, it sounds fun and so far, it is fun, too. A picture says more than a thousand words. I think it's quite an interesting approach. The module is about 28 pages long, including references. It's refreshing and well written. I don't get bored as with some other topics. So this is good. I'm glad I took this break and now I have this interesting module in front of me. Gives me a good deal of motivation to finish this study program just in time before Christmas or so. We'll see how the next few weeks go for me. Let's just hope I won't have a crazy work schedule anymore. Thanks for visiting this site! I really appreciate your interest. If you have questions for me, go for it. I will try to respond to you as soon as I can. By the way, I study at Open School of Journalism. It is a distance education-based school for aspiring journalists (like me, ha!). Jason Hello,
Thanks for coming back (or joining)! I've received some questions and I'm still trying to answer them... I apologize for the delay but I've been so busy with work lately. Hence, I'm not quite finished with my computational journalism course. It's a small book but nevertheless I couldn't fine enough time to get stuff done. I promise to respond to all of your questions this weekend, though. Thanks for showing interest in what I do and hopefully this will inspire you to study journalism as well. My week, as mentioned, has been crazy. I still work at the pizza place and summer time is always pretty crowded. We recently added a delivery service to our service so there you go. It's wild. But I'm making good money right now and might take a little break from work next week and just try to get some studying going. I think I might get this finished some time in the fall. Maybe. So computational journalism is very interesting. I've read a page just now and think this is going to stay a big hit within the journalism scene for a while. Trying to get this module finished by next week, however, I might take a short break from this blog. I will get back in about two weeks and let you know about all the updates by then! Keep up your visits! Jason Hello everyone,
So I've decided to "investigate" the World Fair of 1964 just because... it's fun. There is a lot of material online which makes it easy to write about it. There's multiple videos on YouTube and other platforms. There's multiple website dedicated to the Fair. I've walked around the original site yesterday, thinking how amazing it must have been. So I've started my workshop task officially like three days ago. There is still a lot of work to do. But I think I hit the nail on the head with this task. Not much else happened this week. I've been working a lot, too. People like eating pizza I guess. I was thinking of taking a whole week off after this workshop is done. Since it requires all my attention and takes up a lot of free-time, I most certainly need a few days to chill. So next week, I will be finished with the workshop and submit it to the school. By the way, if you have any questions regarding this school (Open School of Journalism), let me know. I'd be happy to give you some advice. Best, Jason |
